Hungary has always been an educated area of Europe. Once of the first universities in the region was that of Vesprem, which was built in 1276. The country is also home to the world’s institute of technology, founded in 1735. Today the country remains an important area for development and higher education. It is most well known for its mathematics education programs. Many of these programs have produced leading scientists, with 13 of these people earning a Nobel Prize.In Hungary, students begin education at the age of three and continue through to vocational school (which can begin as early as Grade 9), special vocational training schools, and general secondary school. From there, students can move on to college and university.

College is a type of grade education program, since most students obtain their vocational education in what would be secondary school in other countries. A vocational secondary school is also available after the initial years.College graduate education offers training in specialized programs. It also includes graduate education and Master-level degree programs in a variety fields. University is reserved for those obtaining PhD level education, doing research work, working towards dissertation DLA, doctoral degrees and other higher-level specialized education. College education lasts four years, though some fields may be longer.

Every course is vastly different in terms of length, cost, and what you will learn. In most cases, students take semester courses, but some schools offer shorter courses as well. Once a course is complete, it is possible that the student can obtain an internship at one of the various schools and work facilities in the country. Jobs range significantly in whether or not they are widely available. However, there is high competition here.

Obtaining a Student Visa in Hungary

If you wish to visit and study in Hungary, you will need to obtain a student or professional training visa. This is called a D5 visa. In order to obtain this type of visa, the individual must have promised enrollment in a university in Hungary. This must be for higher education or at a research institute. This process can take several weeks to complete.

Health Insurance

For students, it is necessary to have your own health insurance or coverage while studying overseas. If the student enrolls in a program designed to provide this type of coverage as a complete abroad program, then the cost of health insurance and medical needs may be included. However, the country does not provide health insurance for those who are visiting on a student visa.
